June is...
often called the Pearl of Summer, however, I feel like it was much more than that. This month, I got to work with friends, both new and old.
Makenna and I worked together as if the universe guided the session and we had little to do other that ride the current of the cosmos as it moved us through idea after idea after idea. Sure, we had a loose vision of an image we wanted to create, and we certainly did that—we just went through red lights and 1980s vampire scenes first.
Speaking of the Cosmos...
If you don't already know about Von Infinity, you should. My first introduction was at a local thing here in Asheville called 'Carneval Macabre.' While there, I witnessed their stage persona as my jaw was on the floor, and ears wide open to their message. I was a sight to see, and words worth remembering.
After the set, I introduced myself and mentioned that I thought we could create some impactful images that tell a story—their story. While the thought sat for a while with both of us, I was able to attend Nerd Nite, a monthly event that Von hosts at River Arts District several times. If you are local to the area, I would highly encourage you to check that out.
We're still in the process of developing the initial idea, but in the meantime, we created the image below as somewhat of an appetizer for what might be making a debut later this year.
This right here, Y'all.
Look. If you and I have met in person, there's little room for doubt that I DO NOT work out. I probably should. My wife says that I should. I am sure I'll get there one of these days, but that day is not today.
Having said that, I could not have been more inspired by Jane. As a personal trainer, she brings encouragement, motivation, and yes, results. Her time in the studio was no exception. She is a wonderful person to be around and I was extremely thankful that she agreed to let me try my hand at some fitness photos again. It had been a while—just like my relationship with the gym.
