After a busy March...
we kept rolling. This time, with some creative floral images for Calcutta, a Dark Beauty session with Selah, and Kelly stops time.
After meeting Calcutta for the first time almost a year ago, they have become one of the most influential and entertaining people in the group of people I am lucky enough to call friends. From drag shows to DJ sets, to iconic costuming and style, both Carrie and I were ecstatic to finally get to create with Calcutta in the studio.
Dark Beauty...
doesn't quite fully describe the wonder that is Selah. Many of you know that I have a lot of tattoos these days, but most of you have no idea that I decided to start my tattoo journey in 2024. Alternating between two artists at Girl and Goblin Tattoo here in Asheville: Cam, who stabbed me for the first time, and happened to also take part in the 50/2024 project last year, and Selah. Her exceptional talent has taken over nearly my entire left arm (more to come), telling the story of my childhood.
Selah, too, took part in the project last year, and have worked together several times to bring some of my crazy ideas into reality. After spending quite a bit of time together, either in the chair or in front of the camera lens, we wanted to create something feral, wild and imaginative. I think we did that.
Kelly was exceptional.
I am so thankful to have met and worked with Kelly. She brought a completely new look to the studio that I was only too excited to photograph. Her jet-black hair and bright eyes absolutely reach into your soul.
We were able to create some visually captivating images together, and I cannot wait to work with her again in the near future!
